Next White House Christmas tree will come from Wisconsin
NEENAH, Wis. — The next White House Christmas tree will come from Wisconsin.
Tom and Sue Schroeder of Neenah are co-owners of Schroeder's Forevergreens. Last month they were named grand champion Christmas tree growers at a convention of fellow growers.
That means the Schroeders will have the honor of presenting First Lady Michelle Obama with the official White House Christmas tree in late November.
The tree that won the championship title was an 8-foot-tall Balsam fir grown in Marquette County. A report in The Post-Crescent of Appleton says that tree has already been recycled.
But the Obamas will get one that's more than twice as tall. White House officials are expected to visit the couple's 160 acres of trees throughout Marquette and Waushara counties to pick an 18.5-inch evergreen.

I might actually vote for this guy again if he announced they would be using an artificial tree this year.

Chopping down trees for 30 or days of decoration... Ugh. Sickening.

7. I get the feeling that ...
You wouldn't vote for "this guy" (his name is "President of the United States of America and Commander-in-Chief," by the way) if he decided to save the earth by decorating himself in energy saving LED bulbs and strung popcorn.

If the White House broke with 225 years of tradition and bought an artificial Christmas tree (they're only environmental if you keep them for decades, you know--and President Perry will want a gold one, not silver or fake green), you'd just move the goalposts and find something else to whine about.
