Watch for your local idiots burning hot dogs outside.
Be safe.

2. Range fires are truly horrible phenomena
and parts of the Oklahoma City burbs got eaten by one last week. Texans would do well to look to the north to see what can happen and grill those dogs indoors today.

Texas is where we were in July, no rain for 6 months and everything burned to a crisp by hot sun, high winds making a cigarette butt a lethal weapon pointed at all of us.

Unfortunately, it's also the home to a lot of swaggering idiots who won't be told what to do, not even if incineration is the price they pay for disobedience.

Good luck to all Texas lefties. You're going to need it until the weather patterns change and winter storms come rolling in.

3. There are three fires right now within 30 miles of me.
One is tearing through homes the other two are burning woods and getting closer to one neighborhood.

I've got my emergency bugout bag ready and the kitties carriers sitting by the door, JIK.

We're so screwed down here.

4. I drove through some smoke yesterday.
This was in Houston County and Anderson County. Palestine is the county seat of Anderson County.
Houston County is just south of there.

There was a fire to the N.E. of Grapeland and also on the N. side of Palestine. I don't know how big they were.
