1. They are trying to Squeeze us into submission. Cutbacks should cost
the top for ten seconds.

2. You realize the problem with such a simplistic slogan...
Is people will go "You mean like we did in 2006 and even more so in 2008?

People's eyes will glaze over when you then have to explain to them......."But, but.....the blue dogs!! and you see Ben Nelson....and Blanche Lincoln...and...." or "Well you see, they had a majority but there is this rule....and then this other by-law and" or "But, but....the stimulus wasn't as big as it should have been and too heavily loaded with tax cuts, and if you look at the chart and if you read the CBO score and...and....and."

The problem is not just that we need simple slogans, but that we need our elected officials and our leaders to back up those simple slogans with action, consistency, and aggression.

3. I totally agree with you! Thanks for putting it in words.
The *eyes glazing over* thing is so.fucking.real.

I'm a very poor communicator. It has been only the past couple of years that I've followed politics to any depth at all, and I'm feeling an increasing urgency to try to talk to some folks here in the great red state of Kansas ... DU is helping me put complete sentences together, let alone helping me figure out a simple message that I can use to bludgeon some folks in my home town ... I'm not sure I'm cut out for it, but I'm sure as hell going to try.

Thanks again.

5. No, we don't need a reminder....
I don't think there is anyone on here who doesn't know that when true Democratic policies are enacted, that the economy flourishes and everyone prospers.

The people who need the reminder of this are the actual elected Democratic leaders, Senators and Representatives who seem to think they can nickel and dime these policies, and have them work.

No. They need to be fully pushed and fully enacted, and aggressively fought for. Something everyone in any position of authority within the Democratic party seems to have forgotten.
