Former NFL player indicted for failure to pay child support
Posted: Sep 2, 2011 10:03 AM

PHOENIX - A former NFL player has been indicted by a federal grand jury of failing to pay child support in Arizona.

Andre Previn Rison, 44, of Mount Morris, Michigan, was indicted of one count of Failure to Pay Child Support. The indictment alleges that between August 2008 and August 2011, Rison failed to pay a past due court-imposed child support obligation for over two years and owes greater than $10,000. The charges were filed in federal court because Rison resided in a state different from his child, who resided in Arizona. Rison, a former NFL football player, has been summoned to appear in federal court in Phoenix on September 14, 2011.

"According to the indictment, the defendant failed to pay a substantial child support order that has been past due for over two years," stated Ann Birmingham Scheel, Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona. This indictment sends a message to others contemplating this same decision-that failing to meet your financial obligation to your child is unacceptable and you will be held accountable."

A conviction for Failure to Pay Child Support carries a maximum penalty of two years in federal prison, a $250,000fine or both.

4. That's the guy whose girlfriend at the time, Lisa Lopes,
got mad at him and tried to burn some of his tennis shoes in the bathtub. The mansion was a total loss but they got back together again.

5. I remember Him from the last time the Packers won the Super Bowl.
He had an amazing season with the Packers. IIRC, he was brought in to fill some holes left by injuries. Why they let him go after such a brilliant season was beyond me.

12. Oh, I recognize that name..
He turned a family member of mine off pro football forever, I hear rants about it from time to time.

Evidently he was interviewed during contract negotiations and said something incredibly arrogant, my family member blew a gasket over it and hasn't watched pro football since.
