She may be a 'star' but this is one creepy pic

Spotting celebrities and their handlers on flights from LAX is a local pastime in Los Angeles, but some sightings are rarer than others.

Take the case of Crystal, the primate star of "Night at the Museum" and "The Hangover Part II." The furry thespian and her traveling companion, Tom Gunderson, caught the attention of passengers aboard American Airlines Flight 114 to Newark, N.J., on Saturday.

The 17-year-old capuchin monkey smiled for her fans and posed for camera phone stills as she and Gunderson strolled the aisle.

When asked if Crystal had to show a photo ID to board the flight, Gunderson said no. All she needs for her domestic and international trips ("Hangover Part II" was shot in Bangkok) is her CITES -- certificate of international trade of endangered species. However, Gunderson said capuchin monkeys were not endangered.

I used to think lizards were so cute...until I moved to the jungle where I live now. The little bastards bite. They are adorable, but I don't pick them up any more. Same species, different attitude. In the city limits, they were gentle and tame. Out here in the jungle, they have ATTITUDE.

A loaded diaper can be changed and a baby can eventually go to sleep. If a monkey decides to not be so "well behaved," I can never get my face back.

I'd rather take my chances with the human baby, no matter how smelly, germy and noisy it is.

I'd say, "look mean!" and she would. The kindest, sweetest, Irish Setter/? mix that ever was. She could pass, if it weren't for her red nose.

22. We had a mixed german shepherd that showed up on the back

dock of our mom & pop grocery store, dragging a rope tied around her neck. She was very timid when we approached her, but when we said we're not going to hurt you, come on in and have a bite to eat, she smiled - showed her teeth! What a sweetie she was; we had her over 10 years and when you'd say, "Nancy, give me a smile," she'd give us that full-teeth goofy grin. We still miss her.

24. What is the fear of monkeys and apes called?

I'm sure it is something-phobia. I have it, whatever it is called. If I go to zoos, I'd rather look at the lions. I KNOW they'd eat me. So many people seem to just automatically trust monkeys and apes, because they are so much "like" humans. Chimpanzees and some others may be 98% identical to us as far as DNA goes, but so are serial killers. I have no earthly urge to cuddle up to either.

Count me FIRMLY in the watch-those-monkeys-and-apes-they-are-out-to-get-us category. :scared:
