5. Barrier Islands are always subject to change.
The old New Inlet closed up in 1933. Now, there's a new one. I wonder what they're going to do. They could fill it or bridge it or?

6. Build a condo?
A 10 story condo/casino from shore to shore would show the next hurricane that we mean business and we can out engineer nature any day.

Go ahead Ma Nature, bring it on!

8. Not quite yet.
But we are making real progress. Eventually the Wild will be all ours.
Well, not ours, but theirs.

As to the OP, I nominate the moniker to henceforth be "Hurricane Pass: Future home of the world's first Boat-in and dock motel"

9. There's lots of hotels where you rent dock space and rooms
And that's not a great spot for boating.

Shoals man, shoals.

10. Silly
That why we have dredges.

Yes there are Boatels, but this would be the first that bridges a pass, has a casino, and you park your boat underneath. Not to give them any ideas or nothing, but.....

11. Just because Hatteras is an Indian name, it doesn't mean it's Indian land
Which is the only place you'll find a casino in NC
