All I can say is that I hope that Obama surprises and goes bold on a jobs plan

because after the latest backdown to Republicans on the speech schedule and the caving on EPA standards he needs to do something to get the Democratic base out of its funk. If he doesn't think that's important he better think again. I also think Independents, who he has been courting so passionately, also would like a bolder president than Obama so far has been.

Don't even get me started on the reaction of Organized Labor, who already put Obama on notice, if he presents a milquetoast jobs bill to the congress when he will have the nations attention and before a joint session of congress.

Go bold, Mr. President! What's it going to hurt you?

2. Going bold means believing in the cause, haven't seen him
deliver once. He is perhaps the greatest disappointment our party will ever witness, for what could have been. Every ounce of hope, support, belief has been squandered. He deserves an in party challenger. He has not represented the people who elected him, nor the core values of the party.

5. His greatest achievement has been proving that an African-American can
be elected president--that is a great achievement--but unfortunately it's been down hill since then. It's a pity because so many of us believed in him. I still want to, but he doesn't seem to fight for anything. This 'No Drama Obama' act is wearing thin.

11. That's an insanely insulting thing to say. In fact, that's a right wing thing to say--

Joe Walsh just said it. Appalling.

3. Vague. What does "bold" mean
Obama has to come up with specifics. Keyboard warriors don't.

The Congress will never pass it, so what's the point?

7. It means presenting something that actually does put millions of people back to work
and then fighting for it even against tough obstacles and rallying the American people to get behind the plan and the fight to force public opinion. 'So what's the point?' I guess every congress that presented 'anti-lynching' or some other civil rights legislation in the 30's-50's knowing that the southern bloc would stall it were just wasting their time too.

4. I think the speech scheduling was a brilliant move.
Yes, it appeared to be a back down, but it actually works to his advantage rather than theirs. Their debate could provide more foolishness and show him to be the one of reason in comparison.

6. Even if he goes bold in his speech
he will fail to demonstrate much fight as Congress guts everything, just like he didn't seem to fight for a decent health care reform bill.

He's more comfortable doing things behind the scenes, which is why we're in such a funk. He needs to use the bully pulpit more often to tell us why things are the way they are.

Using the airwaves to inform the public is part of the job, too, Mr. President, since what passes for news these days informs no one.

8. Be careful what you wish for.
This President could very well go "Bold" in a completely right wing direction.

9. As part of a jobs program he might use this occasion to announce his
approval of the Keystone pipeline..(that does not require Congressional approval)

10. How bold?
Cut taxes?
Decrease regulations? (EPA,EEOC,etc)
Cut minimum wage?

Do you want a bold plan to accomplish something or for campaigning? He needs the House to pass a bold plan. If you want a "progressive bold" plan you are saying you're ok with using jobs as a campaign tool while not creating jobs
