Sometimes it’s easy: US Uncut exposes Rush Limbaugh with one simple question
byMike Stark

Carl Gibson, one of the founders of US Uncut, just steamrolled the drugged one. It was a thing of beauty. Rush would take a punch, hit the canvass, struggle to his feet, only to be flattened again.

Carl: “…several multi-billion dollar corporations paid their CEOs more than they pay the government in taxes. Now I know how you feel about folks, I mean individuals who don’t pay their taxes, but I want to know how you feel about corporations that don’t pay taxes. Do you have the same antagonism for them?”

Rush: “How do I feel about how he felt about corporations that don’t pay income taxes?”

Carl: “No, corporations.”

Rush: “No, you said you know how I feel about individuals that don’t pay taxes… How do I feel about that?”

Carl: “Well, I’ve heard you refer to the 47% of Americans that don’t pay taxes.”

Rush: “Well, that’s… uh… they’re not illegally avoiding taxes, they don’t have to pay taxes because they’ve been exempted. Their votes are being purchased.”

Carl: “Well, they have to pay a third of their income in sales and property and payroll and excise taxes too… but..”

Rush: “Look, the only major corporation I know not paying US taxes is General Electric.”

Carl: “GE, EBAY, Verizon, Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Bank of America, Citibank, I mean I can go on…”

Rush: “Are you trying to tell me that every one of those corporations pay zero US taxes?”

Carl: “Zero US taxes Rush. Sometimes they get money back from the federal government.”

1. Lol, that as a thing of beauty. Thanks for posting it!
I'm sure Rush is digging deep to find ways to excuse it and he'll be back with his spin as soon as he finds it. If he can't, the subject will be dropped.

Great take-down by Carl.

19. "i said nothing bad about your party" B.S.:
"Why do democrats always talk of violence on republicans and
those people that disagree with them?"

the first part of your post was inflammatory. The second was accusing others of YOUR actions.

please go back to the faux news desk that spawned you and then open your eyes to a reality OUTSIDE the matrix, you Kool-aid addled fool.

If you need help, feel free to click on the link at the bottom of my post.

21. Excellent link by the way, I have a 25 year old hard copy of that, I also received a "pope card"
from Bob Wilson at a pagan gathering (Starwood) in the early nineties. He hosted two excellent discussions there.

10. it must be all the godless communism among us...it breeds barbarism
Just kidding! We're all about love, we liberals. Free love. And tolerance to our fellow humans. Free love and people getting it on with whomever they so wish, between consenting adults. Violence is the last resort of cowards.

No, really, you should stay...I bet we could all learn something from your fascinating world view. Please, tell us more. Really. I mean, what the fuck are you even talking about?

15. The poster was using imagery, unlike the literal, vicious violence we see from right-wingers.
When was the last time a Democrat stalked a Republican Congressperson, and stepped forward to murder them and their friends? When WAS the last time a Democrat burned a church in a spasm of uncontrollable racism, or entered a church to slaughter a fully functioning, conscious Republican?

How is it you imagine ANYONE sensible would agree with your embarrassingly clumsy, slow, poorly considered post?

18. violence? my goodness no! rather, we speak of vampirism
As you well know, being a well-groomed conservative poster on a predominantly Democratic site, the primary goal of all liberals is to act as parasites on society's great minds and job creators. A parasite, however, is far too unwitting for apt comparison -- it simply acts according to its nature.

We Democrats are far more fiendish and ill-intended in our actions. You may compare us appropriately to predators, vampires, creatures of the night, or perhaps, in one of our alternate forms, moonbats.

But, whether parasite or vampire, for us to speak of violence for its own sake would hardly be to our advantage. Violence against the capitalists would run counter to our desires. When our prey is healthy and fat, so are we. Thus, Vampire Lord Obama offers only token resistance to tax cuts for the ultra-rich, as he knows well that his communist minions will delight in feasting upon their corpulent financial bodies.

Cthulhu fhtagn!

6. Nailed him.
Usually Rush can adapt to any argument by denying any irony or hypocrisy at all, setting up a straw man and then beating the hell out of it.

Even he seemed to be taken aback by those facts.

Cut the caller off and went on a diatribe. Probably looked like a hero to his dittohead fans.

26. Seriously.
I always listen to clips where DUers think a right-winger has been "owned" -- desperately hoping to hear a good example of it -- and I never hear it. I hear facts, but I never hear how those facts really sunk in and shut the other person up (Limbaugh et al), and certainly didn't hear anything that would make a dittohead think twice about what Limbaugh and his ilk spew daily.

24. I know the secret to destroy Rush Limbaugh
Its very simple. He's a real sports nut. Just have people with extensive sports knowledge keep calling him and getting him off subject. This is a um "slam dunk" way to get him off the air.

30. Rush went on to say...
From the story:

"Eventually, Rush came back from his break to inform his listeners that ExxonMobil paid billions in taxes! It was just the caller's clever use of a technicality that allowed for him to make his claim. It turns out that United States corporations can deduct the taxes they pay to other governments from their US tax bill."

Wowee.

So, Rush, tell us again about the exorbitant U.S. tax rate for business and why we need to drop our tax rate to be competitive? Because from this seat, it looks like corporations have a pretty sweet deal.

31. Carl Gibson Johnson is correct.

“The message is simple—before you sacrifice hard-working public sector employee’s jobs and necessary public programs, why not first make the richest of the rich pay their fair share in taxes?”
