Obama should dig in his heels on EVERYTHING at this point.
Every time he tries to compromise (or is it capitulate?) with the opposition, they are all over the air waves calling him weak and a milquetoast. The Republicans hate him. The GOP used the Tea Party like paper towel, use it for your dirty work, then toss it aside. This has been their master plan all along. All of this has been to make Obama look weak, and sadly, they have succeeded. He has lost so much face, at this point, just holding firm and balking at everything would serve him better. They have played him too often and far too long. He needs to hold fast. It won't help get anything passed, but it will at least make him look stronger.

1. It's not who he is.
And it's not going to happen.

3. True, but at some point
don't you quit getting your ass kicked and go down swinging? Die on your feet rather than live on your knees? I hate seeing them do this to him. I do think he really tried.

2. I am long since past the point where I think Obama will stand strong...
He has sold out far too often for me to ever give him another chance. Sned him to that Georgia workfare program he's touting in 2012 if he thinks that's so great.

5. You know I'm really thinking that if he did that, he would just get the reverse bashing
He'd be called unreasonable, uncompromising, inflexible, rigid and the same people, the same exact people, would be talking about how terrible that is. And that nothing at all gets done, when something could have been done. When the reasonable, flexible, open to compromise Republicans were offering such and such.

7. He should have given his speech!
If the Thugs didn't show up, he should have taken the opportunity to paint them as uncaring, obstructionist. It's really very simple. If he won't fight back, they win by default.

8. He should have dug in his heels a year ago
Things probably wouldn't be any different but we'd all feel better about him.

10. He just announce he wont enforce the Clean Air Act anymore
If my Greenpeace email announcement is true, this guy has no intention of digging heels in for us.

Only THEM that don't need any help, will get Obama's help.
