New Mexico investigators are seeking to identify the uniformed State Police officer seen in surveillance photos having sex with a woman on the hood of a car.

The cop was filmed mid-tryst by a camera that county officials set up to combat vandalism attempts at an adjacent public property.

As seen above (click each to enlarge), two surveillance images were released yesterday by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office showing the officer engaged in the daytime coupling. And, yes, that appears to be a Chihuahua (or another tiny dog) watching the action.

Although the identify of the officer was not released, the New Mexican identifies him as Bert Lopez, who was honored in May 2010 as the New Mexico State Police District 1 Officer of the Year.

It doesn't help anything, not for either person involved or their families. They didn't film themselves, didn't know a camera was there.

I have to admit that the two fuckers are pretty low on MY priority list. It's not like they were on private property on their own time. He was on duty and they were parked in the driveway of a facility owned by the county. And the camera was placed there in response to vandalism, so there's a good chance he either did or should have known about it.

If it gets him off the force, then it helped everyone in the area his police force covers. Good enough for me.

If he wasn't an officer, there's a good chance they'd be charged as sex offenders.
