Listening to this AMEX CEO on MSNBC...it just dawned on me why we are losing the war
Their lies sound more believable than our truths.

They are SUCH good liars that they sound reasonable and believable...unless of course you listen to the content of what they are saying.

The lies of the lying liars...

If there ever is a kill the rich movement, he has to know he's on their list just for being an obnoxious ass who didn't earn his money, as he claims. He croneyed it up.

You could tell that he was not used to being challenged on his assertions. Nobody has talked back to this guy in a long time.

5. I think that is part of it
The more difficult part to overcome is that the right has told its audience that every other source of information - schools/universities, scientists, the media, etc - is biased and full of liberal lies. This makes it near impossible to correct anyone, as even if you show them proof their confirmation bias and their decision to not even read/listen to our proof keeps them in the dark. For proof, look how many are still convinced 9/11 was Iraq's fault and that Iraq had a WMD program, or that Obama is a Muslim.
