Columnist: Registering Poor To Vote 'Like Handing Out Burglary Tools To Criminals'

Conservative columnist Matthew Vadum is just going to come right out and say it: registering the poor to vote is un-American and "like handing out burglary tools to criminals."

"It is profoundly antisocial and un-American to empower the nonproductive segments of the population to destroy the country -- which is precisely why Barack Obama zealously supports registering welfare recipients to vote," Vadum, the author of a book published by World Net Daily that attacks the now-defunct community organizing group ACORN, writes in a column for the American Thinker.

"Encouraging those who burden society to participate in elections isn't about helping the poor," Vadum writes. "It's about helping the poor to help themselves to others' money. It's about raw so-called social justice. It's about moving America ever farther away from the small-government ideals of the Founding Fathers."

That is a great idea! (sarcasm)

The ideals of our founders (note not what our founders actually did)was people treating each other equally, justly, and fairly. It was communities taking care of all those in the community. It was for prosperity and freedom for all! Again they were Ideals they still to this day have not been realized.

This is what our founding fathers wanted our government to do. This is the promise and contract our government has made with the people.

"establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty"

This is what our Government must do for all of us! Yes, even the poor....

12. We Knew That Was The Right-Wing Voting Fraud Sub-Text All Along
We progressives knew that discouraging the poor from voting was the right-wing sub-text for their "voting fraud" campaign all along. It's so flamingly obvious that even moderates who pay attention can see it. Of course the lazy, the clueless, the inattentive, and also of course the corporate news media are going to ignore the likes of Vadum coming out and BLATANTLY saying why the Radical Right doesn't want poor people and minorities to vote.

Another story about the REAL right-wing game plan, destined to be trimmed to a single two-sentence paragraph and buried on the back pages of the remaining daily newspapers--if it's even in print at all.

owners have the right to vote. It certainly looks like they are on their way. I wonder if they will have an income qualification test. Say only those who own houses worth half a million can vote?

it would doom the Republican party. The "idle rich" are the biggest burden to the productive economy. Perhaps we should force them to do community service before they are allowed to vote.

I've been hearing the "not everyone deserves the right to vote" meme for quite some time now.

Money = Freedom of Speech
Corporations = People
Voting /= A Right

Add to this the right-wing's campaign to disenfranchise as many voters as possible.

Won't be long now. I wonder which group they will declare doesn't have the right to be citizens of the US first?

Probably the most dishonest and least reputable "news" source on the internet. They employ idiots like Jerome Corsi who has now slandered TWO consecutive Democratic nominees for president as well as one Democratic president. The owner is a wack-job who is of Arab descent but has convinced himself that he is actually a white, evangelical southerner, and so he writes all kinds of vile stuff about gays and Muslims.
