Ohio Firefighter's ad to repeal the OH Anti-Union Senate Bill 5:

On Friday, September 2nd, We Are Ohio went up on the air with our first campaign ad. Please watch the ad and then help us by contributing whatever you can to ensure that this ad stays up on the air. We must reach as many people as possible to ensure that they vote NO on Issue 2 on November 8th to repeal Senate Bill 5, the unfair, unsafe attack that hurts us all.

Here is a sneak peek at the first television ad run by We Are Ohio, the bipartisan coalition created to veto Senate Bill 5 by voting No on Issue 2 in November.

SB 5 is unfair, unsafe and hurts us all.

We Are Ohio’s first ad features firefighters.

We must veto this law because, as we state in our first ad, "it makes it illegal for us to negotiate for enough firefighters to do the job. Fewer firefighters means slower response times and that can mean the difference between life and death. Issue 2 makes it harder for us to do our jobs and that's not safe for us or the neighborhoods that we serve." This unsafe law also makes it harder for firefighters to bargain for safety equipment.

Issue 2 takes away my rights and that is why I’m voting NO on November 8th.

Make no mistake, I’m honored to do this job and will continue to do so for as long as possible. As firefighters, all we ask in return is that we have the best equipment available – not only for us, but so we can reach those in need as quickly as possible.
