Joe Trippi doing P.R. for Bahrain
The latest political operative to sign on as a public relations guru for the Persian Gulf kingdom of Bahrain is former Howard Dean for president campaign manager Joe Trippi.

Bahrain's Information Affairs Authority will receive "strategic communications counsel, media relations, and third party outreach support" from Trippi as well as Sanitas International, a Washington public relations firm.

Since violently suppressing a Shia protest movement earlier this year, Bahrain's Sunni ruling family has retained at least two pricey Washington lobbying and law firms to help it beat back negative attention. The Trippi/Sanitas deal marks the third such contract in recent months.

4. Howard and Trippi did not exactly part on good terms
In light of this, I guess I can add, "needless to say."

6. Well....Obama wouldn't hire him...and some think we Dems are on the skids...so he had to get work
where he could get it. BTW..I met him when he was working for Dean campaign. I think he was a "good guy" at that time and I know that Dean folks got angry with him...but, he did try to work for Progressives after the Dean implosion. I think he gave up seeing that a "New Crowd" was in town.

He has to make a living. I didn't get a bad impression from him when I met him. He really wanted to build the Dem Party at that time with New People. That it didn't work out is not his fault.

9. lol's. When I met Trippi and talked to him...I saw NO Hints of Kissinger...
I think he realized that "given the odds" he had to make a living...and "reform" wasn't what the Dem "Powers that Be" had in mind. So...he moved on.

He seemed a nice guy. I also met Rahm Emmanuel at a Dem Fest before he got into Obama Campaign here in NC. He was a scum. Hung out by the door in the Hilton Hotel only talking to the Dem Party Money folks. Precinct Chairs couldn't get near him. He was in expensive suit...looking like a "media style tarted up asshole." He was chatting and grinning with the DLC of the party while the rest of us looked on. He's pretty cool in his presence, though. Looked like a TV Anchor from a big network. He had nice "makeup" to go with the "low lighting" also.

8. I can see the spin now:
Well, the Saudis used M1A1s to crush the protests, and M1A1s are made in the USA, so their actions were clearly justified. Now if they were using Russian-made tanks to crush the protests, that would be a whole 'nother story.
