Did anyone see the FDR clips on Lawrence's show?
What did you think of it?

Would FDR's message not work today?

"I welcome their hatred!"

1. FDR is stating to show up
outside the Thom Hartman show... and I hope people in the WH realize WHY.

he got elected four times and is a KING among dems. It is the
same today as it was then comically so. By the way, are you watching ED tonight? Awesome.

2. I'm glad he did.
I don't remember seeing those clips before. They were great.

Would FDR's message not work today? It would be worth a try.

It was devastating.

5. I welcome their hate!
You do have to admit, though, that in lieu of the Kennedy assassination, it probably isn't the right thing to repeat.

12. yes, and then those robber barons attempted to coup him

if not for Gen. Smedley Butler. However, those robber barons got off easy, when they should have been tried for TREASON!!!!!

Yeah, well, if the economy keeps spiraling down the crapper while the "have mores" keep gaining and bamboozling the public--another FDR type politician, if something happens to him/her by the "truly sociopathic" they may start something they won't be able to finish. Actually, if something would have happened to FDR, it might have ignited revolution. You know the history books just love to show the hardship, the poverty; but not much the divide. Because there were strikes in this country, there were protests in this country. But, most of the history books don't want you to see that.

And, if the robber barons would have succeeded, we'd be goose stepping right now. Because many of them were financing Mussolini and Hitler. Some of them believed in Hitler's sick ideology. So, here's to Gen. Smedley Butler, long may he be remembered.:toast:

Obama could be very effective at that if he wanted.

10. I know he could! He's very charming and has a great sense of humor...he could
easily wipe the floor with them by using humor, but he won't. :(

I LOVED How he laughed after he whacked 'em one. That was freakin' AWESOME! He was really enjoying himself. :)

8. Yes, they were wonderful.
FDR ran for re-election on what he accomplished in extremely difficult times... and what he would do in the future. A good template for Obama, I would say.
