100 Years Of Sex: San Francisco City Clinic Celebrates Safe Sex With New Campaign (PHOTOS)

If there's one thing San Francisco knows, it's sex.

San Francisco is the city that legalized pornography in 1969. And just this month, the city was rated number five in OkCupid's casual sex poll. Fortunately for frisky San Franciscans, San Francisco is also on top of sexual health, thanks to the San Francisco City Clinic, which celebrates its centennial this year.

Since its opening in 1911, the City Clinic has sifted through the myths surrounding sex, offering STD information and prevention, women's health services and counseling and referrals, so you can keep on getting on — safely.
This year, the clinic is making sexual health sexy with a sultry website, dubbed 100 Years of Sex, filled with sensual icons, vintage smut posters, sexual health resources and all kinds of goodies. Included in the swag: a readers' poll of the top ten sultriest spots in the city, in case you ever need a little inspiration.

Check out the top ten most romantic spots in the Bay Area from the San Francisco City Clinic readers' poll below. Don't see your sweet spot? Spill it in the comments section:

1. I went to college there in 1973.
My fav place was Twin Peaks. I drove up there about 25 times and I never saw another living soul up there. It was great just to sit and enjoy the view (no sex incidentally). Best food & Dixieland ever - Earthquake McGoons. And walking downtown at midnight with the fog rolling in - no words to describe except maybe 'heaven'

2. I lived in SF for 7 years and just moved to LA.
I like living in LA, but when I'm up to visit my friends in SF I am reminded about how much I love the city.

What a paradise for someone living in their 20s.

3. Love going up there. Not necessarily for the reason stated in the OP, but
there's always so much going on. Dolores Park alone is an event, even if there's no event scheduled. Went to amazing kite festival last month in Berkeley. Good food on every block. People biking and walking. Cafes open late. Poetry slams. Music all the time. People with more important things to do than work...like visit friends, have dinners, see shows, etc. Rallies and protests. Killer farmers' markets (Berkeley alone has three). Underground/unknown hang outs. Public transportation. The Bay. The coast and woods and sierras nearby. Free yoga in parks. Diversity in spades, however you want to define it. Fewer chain businesses. Public art. Art galleries. Performance art. Killer views all over. Wine country very close. Organic farms very close. People, not all, who don't fit the mold, for better or worse.

Great city
