http://www.daily-journal.com/archives/dj/display.php?id=478850Norm Grimsley: Columnist believes in global warming
Sept. 01, 2011, 9:18 am
The big news this week was the announcement that severe weather has cost the economy $35 billion so far in 2011, which tied the 2008 record for disasters that cost $1 billion or more. The study compared all 12 months of 2008 with the first seven months of 2011.
The disasters were floods, blizzards, tornadoes and droughts. Nationwide the number of major natural disasters have tripled in the past 20 years, according to insurance firms. Thunderstorm losses have doubled to $20 billion over the past three years.
Now here is where I will lose some of you reading this article: I believe that this huge change in the severe weather is due to global warming. The science is there. The changes can be seen and the overall world ice loss can be seen by all.
I know there are different thoughts on the overall cause. Some say it is a normal process that can happen every 100,000 years or so. Some claim the earth tilt is the overall cause of the temperature change. This is not even happening. Some say it is just a lie told so a past vice president can make a lot of money with book deals and speaking tours. My favorite argument -- It is God punishing the wicked.

This is a GOP owned paper that usually has only the most rabid right wing religous fanatics commenting about how bad the Dems and Obama are.
They seem a bit gobsmacked that one of their own would turn on them this way.
