Obama speech apparently won’t conflict with Saints-Packers kickoff
Posted by Mike Florio on September 1, 2011, 9:01 AM EDT

As the NFL and NBC try to figure out the plans for the season-opening game between the Saints and Packers in light of President Obama’s plan to address a joint session of Congress on the same night, the good news is that Obama apparently plans to steer clear of the start of the football game.

Though an official announcement has not yet been made by the White House, Obama’s speech apparently will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET on September 8, one hour before kickoff of the kickoff to the season.

And so, assuming the absence of any filibustering (a big assumption, given the precise location of the address), the speech should be over before it’s time to play the game.

2. Thats good news.
Of course it will interrupt the pregame show and start at 4:30 on the west coast, but the out of workers will be able to catch it if they haven't pawned their television sets yet. :sarcasm: ?

10. Will Boehner get to respond after the President's speech, and if so, why?
Did anyone else notice late in July after the President addressed the nation about the importance of raising the debt ceiling that several stations carried Boehner's response?

That didn't make any sense to me since President Obama's speech was not a political campaign speech, plus on top of that, how the Fairness Doctrine was ignored for all the years that Bush was lying in the White House.

It is a serious subject about how the media treats the President, yet the mainstream media has treated President Obama with less respect than they did Bush.
They always seem to question everything he says.
Every little thing.

If the media would have been as concerned with doing the same level of intense, exhaustive, microscopic, investigative reporting about whether there were WMD's in Iraq as they were with Clinton getting a blowjob, the Iraq War would never have happened.

11. Hopefully...
The Speaker's response will be overshadowed by the games kickoff and only carried by Faux. HA! So there cry-baby.
