Rush Limbaugh is training wheels for the mind
Felt like saying this to my tea party brother yesterday but didn't:

Training wheels are for people (specifically children) who don't actually know how to ride a bike.

Rush Limbaugh is training wheels for the mind for people who don't actually know how to think.

I wish my brother would take off the training wheels already.

:(

3. not quite
Training wheels on a bicycle actually help you learn to ride a bike. Rush Limbaugh corrupts a mind, and makes it more difficult to think rationally.

4. That's what I was thinking..
Listen to Rush for a while and your brain becomes about as useful as so much tapioca pudding for actual reasoning..

7. I agree in that context, yes. however
training wheels also give the APPEARANCE of ability where there actually is not just from the action of moving.

My brother turns on the radio, Rush Limbaugh makes noise and, to my brother, APPEARS knowledgable just by the fact that he is making noise.

In response to Rep.Carson's TeaBagger comment. I heard this yesterday.

6. The problem is no one who listens to that blob ever takes off the training wheels
It is more like a bad drug that keeps you fuked up with no stop.

11. I'm in a mood, but I say say it to your brother. Have the fight...
why not? They are in our face with their 'opinions'. Why do we hesitate to speak our minds?

12. Nah...I don't fight
I just get in little digs here and there and he gets the message within the form of polite debate. You can't go after somebody who's brainwashed in one full sweep. They'll just resist. You got to break them down slowly using reality as a lever.

Besides, I can't argue. I'm a coffee party member. ;)

15. I wish I didn't fight somedays. I was born in New Haven, CT with my fists up, I'm afraid.
Good for you. You probably sleep better because you don't say things you shouldn't. I will try to learn from you. ;)

13. But you know, something else
Even though we've always stayed cordial to each other and on speaking terms, I really feel like Rush Limbaugh and right wing radio has brainwashed my family and taken them away from me. We could have been so much more productive as a family instead of working towards opposing goals all these years. We'll never get these decades back.
