Who would be better than Obama as Pres.?
No Republican. Correct?

I would vote for Senator Bernie Sanders but he isn't running. Will Dennis Kucinich run against Pres. Obama? Russ Feingold? Ralph Nader?

If no progressive runs or wins we are left with the choice of Pres. Obama or the Republican nutjob du jour.

There is no choice in that scenario, for me.

I have to vote Obama.

The modern Republican Party is just too insane to adopt a couldn't care less attitude and stay home on election day no matter how disappointing Barack Obama is.

1. Dennis Kucinich
I wish he was running now instead of back then. But if he ran,I wonder if the thuglicans would toss him out of the debates to silence him like they did to Nader.Seems TPTB do not want an corporate unfriendly candidate ,or pro help the poor types to have a voice.

6. Certainly wouldn't have to worry about him invading Libya...
Inviting Gadaffi over for a State Dinner perhaps...

12. The Qadaffis were already invited to the State Dept. No need for
Kucinich to do it.

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_QKwwR3v3bcA/SjjzsYDoB_I/AAAAAAAAEEQ/Dr9llQlgVTg/s400/qaddafi+son+clinton6-17-2009+6-40-55+AM.png

Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton welcomes Qadaffi's son to the State Dept.

He was here for five weeks, being treated like visiting royalty. Did Kucinich invite him, or was it the Administration?

Best to leave the subject of socializing with dictators alone. Too many of our current and former leaders have had zero problems inviting to dinner. There are thousands of photos of almost all of our leaders posing with Qadaffi and members of his family, from Bush to Obama and everyone in between all over the internet, now embarrassing to all of them I guess.

But I couldn't find one of Kucinich. He did do his job as a US Congressman tasked with the burden of deciding whether the US should be getting involved in another war, and went to Libya to try to find out for himself if the reasons given were factual. I guess he learned after the last administration not to take the word of anyone on something so serious.

And C, when done by progressives, is the equivalent of B.

32. Um, no.
One would actually have to show up at the voting booth (or mail in their absentee ballot) to take that unnamed option which precludes your assertion. That voter is also voting for other local, state and federal candidates as well (in California) on ballot initiatives so, no, that does not qualify for "staying home."

20. I doubt it. I assumed the question was theoretical.
While I don't think Obama will be judged as a total disaster by anyone but Limbaugh and the like, he certainly wasn't my first choice of the Dems in '08, and probably wouldn't be my choice in a theoretical primary.

14. Where's the money?
I've seen a lot of threads about a primary against Obama here, but considering it'll take close to a billion dollars, I've seen no attempts to raise that level of cash with about a year to go.

Since there's no money forthcoming from the Democratic party, and certainly a progressive candidate can't be beholden to corporate interests, that leaves the grassroots funding that hasn't even begun to formulate. If progressives who want Obama out want to put their collective money where their mouths are, it'll take more cash per individual than my Dollar General calculator can figure.

Good luck with that.

It's called Kucinich-land... or Sanders-land. It's a place where 20% of the population vociferously supports you, but the other 80% do not.

It's a place where national election can NOT be won. Not in America in 2012.
