I long for the old days of the media
Three major networks ran the whole show. There was a nightly newscast and that was it. There were the newspapers too, of course, but you actually read the stories in the paper when the printed newspaper came out.

News moved slower and at a more responsible pace.

Grownups ran the news business. (I'll let you figure out what I mean by that)

And silly one day controversies like the scheduling of a president's speech to Congress would have scarcely warranted a three line entry on page 17.

2. Among my wrong predictions
was that cable news, by virtue of being on 24 hours could get really in depth like Frontline on steroids. Instead, it's the same predigested morsel in hour or half hour servings over and over.

My only correct prediction was the invention of the moped, which came to me in a dream. I suck at predictions.

But sites like this one are why I'm glad it will NEVER go back to the way it was.
