It's become very apparent...
the Repukes are telling Obama that he "should know his place" in every way possible, with out coming right out and saying it. He gets ZERO respect from them, not even common courtesy is extended to him.

No other president in history was treated with such disrespect, and they wonder why they're called racist.

9. He could simply change the venue and make the (R)s look bad
for forcing him to do it elsewhere

a union hall would be nice (right after labor day)

21. That is what makes me tear my hair out
or damn near. There comes a point when you stand up to the bully and kick him in the yarbles as hard as you can. It's the only way to deal with bullies and this man doesn't seem to understand something he should have figured out back on the grade-school playground. He volunteers to give the bully his lunch money as soon as he sees the bully. That ain't no way to run a country.

4. True. They have become blatant with their racism too.
He can't call them on it though or he'd be accused of playing the race card. I can hear it already. The Teabaggers would have a field day with that.

It's obvious to anyone paying attention that what they are doing stems from the fact that they HATE the fact that an African American is President. It makes their blood boil.

6. As I put it to My Favorite Wingnut,
the Tea Party apparently can't stand the fact that a black man is President--and he is obviously so much smarter than anyone in their pathetic gaggle that the wires in their denial mechanisms are heating up and smoking.

will tell a great deal about him and the way he sees his role as leader of the country.

I agree...
to a certain extent. I think he's in a tough place. He has to balance being a tough leader against the perception of being an 'angry black man'. Let's not forget many on the right have said he doesn't see this country the way most of us do. Also the horrible things said about Michelle Obama being angry and not proud of her country, etc.

I would love to see him get angry..but I know there will be consequences for doing that.

It's a fine line he has to walk.

17. Why would anyone assume he "can't see it"?
Maybe it...whatever "it" is...just doesn't bother him like it does some here.

IMO, it's a pretty good strategy, actually...

The more "they" keep acting like spoiled little brats, the worse they are going to look as time goes on.

Even people who are pissed off at him, at some point they may feel the urge to defend him from The Asshole Republicans, and....

well...the story goes on from there.

Purely speculation, of course, but just as possible as the assumption that he's either too STUPID to see what's going on, or he's really in collaboration with The Other Side.

22. Then you don't understand Barack Obama
He doesn't want acceptance. He wants cooperation. He wants to end this decades-long derision because under a continual state of side-taking - nothing gets done.

12. This is sort of unprecedented.
The Republicans are going to continue acting like little princesses, whining and complaining about everything. Nobody can please them. And Obama, who probably was raised like most minorities, feeling like they have to please everyone, needs to know that he's going to fail if he goes in with that attitude.

He needs to lead.
