Molly IVINS: "...please pay attention."
As we saw the last time around, Molly IVINS and maybe others from Texas had done all of the ditch-digging on Shrub's record for Campaign 2000. All the national media needed to do was to read it for starters. Then they might have minimally just turned a fisheye on Shrub. Or, if they wanted to be full out journalists, they might have taken the extra step of following up with their own teeny bit of digging and asking him a couple of questions.
But, no: They decided he was cute, charming, and fun. And, of course, THAT's what we want in a president.
So here comes something called the Burnt Orange Report, announcing in an e-mail that they are launching a national service in publishing ------- *GASP* ---------- MoFo GOODHAIR's very own record and what his taking power will actually mean. IVINS: "...please pay attention."

http://www.burntorangereport.com/ We Can't Let Rick Perry Do To America What He's Done To Texas
It's time to put Perry under the national microscope, and find out how he survives in a broader electoral environment, not just among Texas Republican primary voters. And it's time to make sure that everyone in America knows the real Rick Perry that we've been dealing with for nearly 11 years. ....
After all, as the great Texan Molly Ivins once said, "Next time I tell you someone from Texas should not be president of the United States, please pay attention."

Dear Readers:
I hate to break the news to you but... Rick Perry is running for President.
Over at Burnt Orange Report, we're back on the blog, working hard to spread the word about Rick Perry's decade of failure. We're excited to announce a number of exciting developments to help us expand our coverage. This week, seven new staff writers started. We're excited to introduce Adam Schwitters, Ben Sherman, Chaille Jolink, Edward Garris, Elena White, Emily Cadik and Eric Roberson. You can meet the writers and learn more about their interests here and here. They're committed to helping chronicle Rick Perry's real record for a growing statewide and national audience.
Our Perry coverage is only going to grow, so check out our growing "Rick Perry on the Issues" coverage and let us know what Perry Policies anger you most.
Next Wednesday, Rick Perry is actually going to appear in a debate -- something he was too chicken to do when he was running against Bill White -- and Burnt Orange Report is throwing a debate-watch party in Austin! Misery loves company, and there's nothing more miserable than watching the state you love be destroyed by a self-serving politician. Join us as we watch Rick Perry lie about his record next Wednesday, September 7th at The Tavern. We'll have special guests, fun surprises, and game of GOP Bingo to make the debate more tolerable. The debate starts at 7:00 and we'll start gathering around 6:30.
