Rick Perry: 'There's Not Going To Be A Social Security And Medicare Program'
Is Rick Perry the most right-wing Republican front-runner in modern American history? Just watch this:

25. Picking up whispers that the"Elites, Republican" now think they
just may be able to work with this guy . Want to
watch a bit longer but leaning that way (Perry)

Yesterday, Evening News, Fox, Consensus on a side
comment. Romney should have run as a Democrat.

Listen to Chuck Todd closely. He seems to have
gotten "the word". Push Perry. Just watch and
listen as he really comes up with all these explanations
covering Perry's antics.

11. And this coming from someone who always looks for the good in people
Edited on Wed Aug-31-11 03:16 PM by Generic Other
If you feel this way...he must be pretty damn bad. I really haven't paid much attention to him. He's not very high profile in the Pacific Northwest.

But if this is his platform, the GOP is truly in shreds. This is all they got? A wild-eyed Fundie lunatic, a gun-crazy Alaskan airhead, and a rich guy who is wearing a jetsuit (I'm sorry I can't get that out of my head), with veneered teeth no less!

Obama ought to win this thing by a landslide. Those are not viable candidates. This Perry guy is the worst yet!!!

13. I am a Texan, and have seen the reality that is Perry
I care for the masses of uninsured here.It is truly a sad situation...a lot sadder than people realize. We have so may manageable diseases...hypertension, diabetes, and cancer... in young people. We have SO many work-related injuries. No one cares because they go out of their way to make sure no one knows.

When I found out Perry was sincere, and may actually stand a miniscule chance... I shuddered.

He would get his rocks off with a smile on his face while he screwed the nation.
There,I said it.

17. I think he may be substantially dumber and meaner than Chimpy
and that beggars the imagination. Also, I think he really and truly believes all the dominionist crap that Chimpy only nodded in the direction of. Yes I know I ended that sentence with a preposition. :)

20. "Dumber and meaner"
You have to go to a whole lower order of life form to find that! So now I am scared.

22. I heard a talking head say "He's like Bush, but not as smart."
Roll THAT sentence around in your head for a while!:silly:

Another exchange I heard somewhere:
"He's like bush on steroids."
"Naw, closer to bush on PCP."

favored by voters who were put off by Bush's intellectual elitism.

27. A perfect description! But there's still that small voice in the back of my head
that keeps telling me that I never thought the electorate would take Shit-fer-Brains seriously, either.

14. He actually is referring to these programs in the past tense
He is evil. And this is what passes for a Christian in Texas? Makes me wonder what the devil looks like down there. Oh yeah. Barbara Bush. I forgot.

There is something bad in the water in that state.

6. Well he is right!
If republicans have their way, there will be NO SS or medicare. A very good reason for people to wake up, get out and make damn sure republicans "DON'T" gain control, but actually lose what they already have control of, the house!

No matter what we can not afford for republicans to gain control of the Wh, and congress!

26. I honestly believe the money changer wing is against ending Social Security
They do want the benefits to be worthless and nearly impossible to get and to get all that money into private hands to gamble with but I figure the odds are small that they actually want to kill the piggy bank and starve themselves of loot to exploit.

They love what would be a fairly regressive tax on the "small people" if they can rig it to go through the banks and investment houses and pay out squat. It is an easy funding mechanism for the sections of government they do love like the military and the police state.

I strongly suspect Perry is off the reservation.

12. This isn't campaigning. It is "starting a conversation" - "initiating a meme"
This is cultural engineering at the earliest stage.

24. His culture.
We all participate in cultural engineering, but I believe Perry serves the purpose of moving the "conversation" to the right and just getting this idea out there.
