Surveillance photo shows officer in sex act

KOB Eyewitness News 4 has obtained surveillance pictures of a State Police officer having sex with a woman on the hood of a car in broad daylight.

State Police aren't saying anything about the photos, but KOB Eyewitness News 4 is pressing for answers.

Two weeks ago KOB reported a story about an officer caught on camera having sex while in full uniform, an act shown on security camera at the Santa Fe Canyon Ranch.

KOB has blurred out the woman's image, but you can see it's during daylight hours and the officer is still wearing his utility belt.

...I will say that (unless I overlooked something) there is no mention that he was on duty at the time, nor does it say 'his police car', it says 'a car'. If he was somewhere where he THOUGHT he was alone, off-duty, not in a patrol car...leave the guy alone. Having sex isn't a crime, and doesn't deserve scrutiny outside of the parameters I mentioned (or illegal activity, -obviously-).

...in all respects. The real "crime" here, in my opinion, is that a couple can't even shag somewhere off by themselves without someone's damned surveillance camera dogging their asses. Having consensual sex on the hood of a car is not a crime.

I'd say they had a reasonable expectation of privacy (except they forgot the security cams). The place is big, in the middle of nowhere, and I presume it was as deserted as it is in the video. My ex and I had sex numerous times outdoors while working in the middle of a similar ranch-- if anyone had "caught" us, the real question would be "What the hell were they doing there?"

That happens a lot. Unfortunately. However, in this instance my guess is that it was entirely consensual seeing it was on private property and on the hood of a car. Though the officer was completely stupid for doing it so publicly and obviously were he coercing sex from the woman I would tend to think he'd at least be bright enough to do it in the car and less obviously. One never knows though.

Women love men in uniform with guns. I had a brother who was a good looking cop, and the women were all over him. I never asked if he was all over them. He was single at the time. The fact that the cops have to prowl as part of their job and everything else, makes it difficult to refuse when offered sex, especially if it's in an out of the way place, no matter whether it's daylight or not. If it was consensual and he wasn't on duty, leave him the hell alone.

19. There's an update to this article

Though it was a video of a news report, and I can't seem to find a written article. However, the update is posted as another video after the video in the OP's article finishes running (you have to pick it out of a list).

From what I remember of what was said on the update video the officer in question works the late night/early morning shift in which most of his arrests are DUI's and such. The state police now know who he is, and since the sex incident he has not been showing up to the hearings of his previous arrests causing those cases to be dismissed. He is the arresting officer in the Daniel Martinez case in which Martinez was able to escape when the officer wasn't looking (apparently this Martinez person was a serious offender involving rape, murder and drugs). Apparently, it was during the time that Martinez escaped the officer's custody and when he was re-arrested the next day was when the alleged rape and murder occurred. The officer has been awarded Officer of the Year in the past and at one time served on the governor's personal security detail. News video also mentions that the state police have now completed their investigation of the sex incident and they're awaiting word on what is to be done about any disciplinary measures.

I've never had a bad experience with a cop, so I like them, as a rule. (I seem to be in the minority, at least on this thread, but I kind of like the idea that there are people prepared to run to risk their lives, if necessary, to save mine. Maybe I'm just funny that way.)

But that one little tiny picture is just... gross. She doesn't look like she's participating in any way other than being present. Her arm down by her side, and she's sprawled over the hood of the car... ick ick ick ick ick.

I know there are bad cops--most definitely. The one case I know of in most detail involves their brotherhood of silence/don't narc on a fellow officer kind of thing, which is vile and disgusting, but I do know there are good cops who are horrified by this kind of behavior.

B) I know it is only one snapshot, but it doesn't appear to be anything but consensual.
