Last week, the campaign to recall Republican Governor Rick Snyder in Michigan, Fire Rick Snyder, passed 50% of the 806,522 signatures required to trigger a new election. In retrospect, maybe Snyder's latest "jobs plan" should have involved more than kicking 30,000 children off of food assistance.
Panicked by Snyder's unpopularity, Michigan Republicans are making robocalls claiming the recall petitions are a form of identity theft. While that's pretty bad, just imagine their hysteria when we gather 100% of the signatures required to force a recall election.
Please help that freakout happen by chipping in $6 to the Daily Kos Michigan Recall Fund.
In the last five days, several hundred new volunteers joined Fire Rick Snyder, bringing their total number of recall petition circulators to over 6,000. On top of those efforts, the Michigan Education Association has distributed 25,000 petitions to its members, with space for ten signatures on each petition.
Now we are hiring organizing staff to supplement what has so far been an all-volunteer operation. For every $5,500 we raise a new organizer can be on the ground in 72 hours.
Please chip in $6 to Fire Rick Snyder and Daily Kos. The deadline to collect the signatures is the end of September so we have to move quickly.
Keep fighting, Chris Bowers Campaign Director, Daily Kos
