Luckily the rehab was only half full. He says to expect him to be off Staten Island for the weekend.

6. Battery Park City
My daughter's gf lives in a high rise apartment right on the water there. She has floor to ceiling windows on the 18th floor. I don't think I would want to be there in a hurricane with those windows blowing out and a huge water surge coming in.

going a mile or so, just away from the water.

9. Winds from Cat 1 or low Cat 2 won't blow out those windows
Water is likely to be the biggest problem - flooding

near the ocean on LI. Flooding. No where for all that water to go. That area is very flat and floods with just normal very heavy rains. A basement apartment is no place to be in a hurricane, tropical storm, or major "Nor'easter".
