Anonymous Stikes Again! LOL, Circulates NSFW Photos Of BART Spokesman Linton Johnson
Edited on Wed Aug-24-11 06:56 PM by Lunabelle
Earlier today SF Weekly reported that Anonymous, the secret hacking group responsible for BART protests, fired off a list of demands the transit agency would have to meet before the group would put an end to the weekly protests that have snarled evening commutes. And one of those demands was for BART to fire its chief spokesman Linton Johnson.

To show they are serious about their ill feelings toward Johnson, members of the group released saucy photos that allegedly show the bare-chested Johnson pulling down his pants, giving a full-frontal view of his genitals. Accompanying the partially nude photos is the following message:

"If you are going to be a dick to the public, then I'm sure you don't mind showing your dick to the public."

Who knows where the vulgar photos originated from, but the pictures are blowing up on Twitter. Johnson became a target after the veteran spokesman told media outlets that it was his idea to shutdown cell-phone service in effort to block coordination of a scheduled protest -- and that it was well within BART's right to do so.

2. Wow. I guess shutting down cell service is a perfectly good reason to
publicly humiliate a gay black man.

Who knew.

11. BART apologized today for his stupid remarks.
That was at about the time that all of our news outlets started reporting on the photos.

15. What were they protesting, and why on BART property? Just trying to get
a bit of context.

Or was it a bunch of freepers who wanted to expose a gay black man?

16. They didn't actually expose a gay black man.
Edited on Wed Aug-24-11 08:06 PM by EFerrari
They exposed a douchebag that gleefully bragged all over that media that it was his idea to shut down cell phone service to misbehaving protesters, which was b#llshit. Looks like he is in no position to prescribe good behavior to anyone.

Here's a nutshell article. They were protesting killings by BART police.

17. We still don't know who did this. And from the article, it sounds like
he was concerned about the disruption to BART's service. I'm skeptical as to who these people that are named "anonymous". Freepers in disguise?

18. Who is Anonymous?
Oddly, Anonymous has answered this question...repeatedly. This is one of the clearest and best explanations, albeit a bit old. (Jan. 2009)

Greetings World, We are Anonymous.

It has come to our attention that the media and Scientologists have been spreading mass rumors of our "terrorist" acts. Though we feel that the rumors are so ridiculous that any normal person would never fall for such propaganda, we understand some have been led astray.

Long ago, Anonymous was nothing more than a handful of teenagers on image boards. Over time, Anonymous grew and evolved into a much more powerful and logical entity. We are Legion. No one Anonymous speaks or acts for the whole. Anonymous functions as one mind and one body.

While it is true that some Anonymous have acted out, they do not represent Anonymous as a whole. It is important to remember that when Anonymous acts, we act as one. We have no leaders or followers. We are a collection of individuals who move together for a common cause.

Who is Anonymous? You are Anonymous. Your parents are Anonymous. Your brothers and sisters and friends are Anonymous. Doctors, students, priests, atheists, and stay-at-home mothers are Anonymous. Everyone who wishes to protect freedom and destroy oppression is Anonymous.

Do not let those who wish to suppress truth taint your view of Anonymous. We are not terrorists, but are your greatest allies. We wish to liberate you from suppression and oppression, and no matter how many of us fall in battle, Anonymous cannot be defeated.

We are Anonymous.

We are Legion.

We do not forgive.

We do not forget.

Expect us.

19. When was the last time a Freeper protested the police killing anyone?
And of course, he's gong to say he was protecting his customers. It's always for our own good, right?

The protest was peaceful, and the following ones were peaceful, too. The only disruptions were caused by BART and SFPD beating on people with their batons, arresting reporters and closing down stations.

The last killing was in Fullerton and Anonymous helped organize a protest there over the weekend. Again, it was peaceful.

But, there has been a debate or even a struggle over posting these pictures. Part of the group wanted to do it and part said, don't do it. Someone did it anyway.

21. They weren't "protesting" at all
Edited on Wed Aug-24-11 08:52 PM by arcane1
They were deliberately trying to shut down the trains during evening rush hour. It wasn't waving signs and trying to get the public's attention, it was flooding the platform with people, flooding the trains and blocking the doors so the trains won't go and passengers could not get out. There were even dumb-asses climbing up onto the actual trains.

They were disrupting, not protesting, and the only people they "reached" were the pissed off commuters, myself included. They accomplished nothing but to piss of and annoy the general public, and give the police some overtime.

They haven't tried this shit at the station where Oscar Grant was killed under much more questionable circumstances. I wonder why :eyes:

Personally, I understand why BART made this choice, right or wrong, because they were trying to prevent what they had every reason to think would be a much worse version of the original July "protest".

Fortunately, it seems that the last two were a little less of a riot, and people were actually on street level carrying signs, etc.

Their actions are totally counter-productive, IMO.

On edit: I am referring to the first protest there in July. Since then, it's all been about how BART reacted and over-reacted to that incident.

24. That doesn't look like a product of hacking to me, either
It looks like a stupid drunken party picture featuring two gay guys, one of whom has a rather elevated opinion of his weiner, that could have been uploaded to FACEBOOK, for all they notice. Tasteless, yes, but apparently this younger generation finds it "cool" to expose their wee-wees, tah-tahs, hoo-hahs or pretty much anything that can be euphemistically referred to in two short syllables.

The days of people "mooning" others for shock value is a quaint bygone time, apparently!

Maybe this kind of shit has become too common, but even my old stodgy self is just not surprised anymore.

I don't think these people help their cause with this kind of action. And sorry, I don't think they have the "right" to cellphone service within a facility when their need for said service is to disrupt the activities of said facility. My cellphone doesn't work at all on one side of my house. That's life. If I need to use it, I get my ass up and go to where I can get a signal. That's what these clowns need to do, too--of course, that may make creating mayhem a bit more difficult.
