I've been thinking for the past few weeks that the Republican Party is in danger of imploding. It has just gone so far to extreme positions that it will soon be irrelevant. I think the odds are very good that one or more new parties will arise to take its place very soon.

I broke down and bought his book because I want to know first hand what this guy represents. The forward is written by Newt Gingrich no less. Newt spends some time spouting about the successes of the CONTRACT WITH AMERICA. Some how, I remember it differently. Any way, the guy is a state's rights advocat, wants literal interpretation of the constitution in regard to "the duties of federalism", he does think SS, Medicare and Medicaid are unconstitutional. He blindly indicates that the states are capable of taking care of the people and of course he wants to do away with the federal income tax and substitute a national sales tax. We have had that debate when Perot ran for president. Such a move was debunked solidly during that campaign. This many is a charming TXan but has an empty soul. He cannot be trusted to lead the US of AMERICA, especially if we want the DEMOCRACY to prevail.
