I wonder if Olbermann will do a mea culpa tonight about Ben Stein and Wayne Rogers
Keith sort of "live-blogged" O'Reilly's show last night, criticizing Stein and Rogers, implying that they were some kind of inevitable yes-men to the grand bloviator.

But neither Stein nor Rogers lapped up the trash that Bill was spewing.

They both strenuously disagreed with the host's talking points, and Ben Stein was especially forceful in shutting the man down, and reducing BillO to a muted stutter.

It may be time for Keith to quit doing tired mockeries of Ben Stein and actually interview him. Stein is no left-winger, that's for sure. But he proved on O'Reilly's show last night that he doesn't carry water for the far-right echo machine, either.

It was kind of rude of Ben Stein shooting the bird to Ariana years ago on CNN. But I've kind of gotten over that too. I can't remember if Ariana was far-right or far-left at that point.

4. I can't help but think that the whole "tax the rich" issue...
is a bridge too far for the few sane Republicans who remain. If the far right had their way, they'd take the country down the toilet for good, and I think that's the subject at hand.

I don't know about Wayne Rogers, but I've heard Stein bloviate RW talking points on more than one occasion. Sounds as though he's reached his limit.

If this issue is becoming as big as I think it is, it may just blow the Republican party to shreds by November 2012.

5. So, since they didn't act as reprehensibly ignorant as O'reilly they suddenly deserve some respect?
Years and years of Ben Stein acting like a bloviating ass are wiped clean by not agreeing with some other inflated gas bag?

8. All I was really saying was that Olbermann is just as guilty as the rest of us...
about relying too much on preconceived notions.

He was being all snarky on Stein, while at the same time Stein was pretty much backing Keith up on substance.

Ben Stein, for the past few years, has been echoing Buffett, saying that taxes need to go up on the wealthy. Those of us who believe that is true would be well advised to make like friendly with those on the right that agree.

6. We have such short memories.
Ben Stein was a speechwriter for Nixon. He was vocal in his support of Nixon throughout Watergate, blaming it all on the leebrul meedia, and for the last forty years has continued his worship of all things evil. He's a worse human than Billo, even on the sexual front; the women Billo sexually harassed were adults.

10. I've never heard that Ben Stein is a pedophile
And I've never been an admirer of Nixon, and I won't start now, though he would be considered a raging liberal today.

All that has nothing to do with the simple fact that Ben Stein now advocates higher taxes on people like Bill O'Reilly, and that Bill O'Reilly was unable to rebut him.

19. I'm not exactly calling Stein a pedophile
but in his book _Hollywood Days, Hollywood Nights: The Diary of a Mad Screenwriter_, he expressed a taste for teenage girls. Eighteen- and nineteen-year-olds are still teenagers, and if Stein's taste runs only to those older teenagers, then he's not a pedophile -- he's only a sleazebag. In his book he didn't specify the age range of the teenage girls -- though the book mentioned that, when he was 41, he had something going on with high school girls in Birmingham.

He's a creep through and through.

9. Ben "Part of being a gay male is being a pedophile" Stein? Yes, wonderful.
'I hope it won't come as a surprise to anyone that a big part of male homosexual behavior is interest in young boys.'

-- Getting together with fellow extremist traveler Glenn Beck to compare Barack Obama to Hitler.

-- Comparing environmentalists to Hitler.

-- Comparing critics of the Hurricane Katrina response to Nazis.

-- Saying that scientists are comparable to Nazis on Trinity Broadcasting Network.

-- Accusing the Minneapolis Police Department of using Gestapo tactics and aiding terrorists following the arrest of Republican Senator Larry Craig while on extremist ground zero Fox News.

- Calling gay males pedophiles.

-- Comparing "Moslem" extremists to Hitler while calling the U.S. the least racist nation on the planet.

Simply put, Ben Stein is a misogynist, racist, homophobic elitist that doesn't have the courage to put his true beliefs into print in the mainstream media. But give Stein some space at an extremist site like American Spectator, and his real beliefs overcome him.

12. I don't know about all that, but since someone upthread implied Stein a pedophile...
This is getting way more "interesting" than I intended.

I was only happy that one rich guy was telling another rich guy that taxes need to go up on rich guys. And pointing out that Olberamann can be a bit of dick his self-righteous self.

20. Stein is a right wing tool and a douchebag
It changes nothing that he told off O'liely... It was just one tool telling off another. Amusing to watch but they are still both tools.
