Kangaroo shot in head with arrow
Members of the tiny coastal community of Golden Beach on the Ninety Mile Beach in eastern Victoria launched a rescue effort to save a kangaroo on the weekend.

The kangaroo, known as Old Joe to the locals, was spotted grazing in a back yard with an arrow through his head.

Wildlife rescue experts made a 300-kilometre trip to tranquilise the 80-kilogram kangaroo.

I'm always saddened by any cruelty to animals, but heartened when people rally together to help.

This old kangaroo sounds like quite a character. I hope he makes a full recovery. (And I hope they catch the
person who shot the arrow.)
