Facts

In March of this year, Qaddafi's forces were on the verge of obliterating the city of Benghazi... and killing tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of Libyans.

The US and NATO air forces stopped that slaughter. In the interim, a few thousand have been killed on the ground in the ongoing civil war to oust Qaddafi.

Scenario A: We do nothing, hundreds of thousands die

Scenario B: We do something, a few thousand die

Obama chose scenario B, and he was right.

If he sat back and did NOTHING, the howls on this very site would have been ear-shattering. "How can he sit by and do nothing while a genocide is going on in Benghazi, Libya?"

He didn't sit by.

He saved countless lives.

There was no scenario in which NOBODY died. Obama chose the path of least death. And was proven correct.

1. That is under the assumption that the rest of
NATO would not have acted.

2. US air power went first... then handed control over to NATO

And the US is part of NATO... so anything that NATO did, the US is partly responsible for.

4. I realize what happened.
However, England & France were pushing for a NFZ and more than likely would have acted even without US involvment.

5. Yep, Obama prevented another Sarajevo
If nothing had been done Gaddafi probably would've carried out the worst mass murder of the 21st century so far.

8. Obama was also right not to put US troops on the ground: The rebels now
own their own country, and there isn't much chance of civil war, because we didn't muddy the waters.

The rebels took back their own country. You can't wait for rebels to have their own army, so we loaned them our air strikes.

They did the rest themselves.

A+ Obama. That's my pres.
It feels good to be proud of my country, again.
