14. He's a shitz shu/poodle mix

He was sort of a stray, the folks down the street weren't taking care of him (he was extremely matted and under weight).
and he ran away from their house twice to my house.
So, the second time he showed up we kept him, took him to the vet, and the vet said 'do not let him go back to where he was under any circumstances due to the neglect he had experienced".

We weren't sure who his owners were at first, apparently the folks down the street didn't want him and they knew he was here and they were not interested in taking him back.

About six months later, one afternoon a lady showed up at the door and asked if he was here and I said 'yes' - I was ready for a fight, but she explained that she had heard on the police scanner that a small black and white dog was found on a neighboring street and she wanted to make sure he hadn't gotten out and was lost!
She was happy that he found a home with us, and she said she had no interest in taking him back to her house - which was good because there was no way in hell I would let her have him :)
