Janeane Garofalo: Do female GOP candidates have Stockholm syndrome?
Posted on 08.17.11
By Eric W. Dolan

Stand-up comedian, actress, political activist and writer Janeane Garofalo appeared on Countdown with Keith Olbermann Wednesday night to discuss the tea party, Herman Cain and female Republican candidates.

She said she had “no idea” if female Republican candidates were “nuts” or” opportunists,” and wondered if women involved in conservative politics had “Stockholm syndrome.”

1. No, they suffer from "wounded duck syndrome".
From Chevy Chase's movie, "Modern Problems".
The mother duck acts like it has a broken wing when predators get up close to her nest, so she draws the predator's attention so he will chase her, as she runs away from the nest.

The duck puts on a show and quacks and says, "help me, help me" acting like she has a broken wing.
And then after the predator sees her, he chases her for awhile.
Then, after she has run far from the nest, she takes off into flight and flies back to her nest.
The predator is confused by the "wounded duck syndrome" because he sees his dinner fly off.
In the process, he forgets where he was when he first saw the duck, not realizing how close to her nest he was in the first place.

Dabney Coleman has a great part in that movie.

3. Or they suffer from opportunism syndrome.
The same disease the Male GOP candidates suffer from.

4. Why doesn't Keith just get Randi Rhodes on
with something a bit more substantial? She seems to be banned from all TV shows.
