When the dust settles...the republicans won't end up with a "mainstream" candidate
However...I do, believe that they will reject Palin, Bachmann, Perry from the far right whackos and I believe that they will also reject Romney and Huntsman from the seemingly saner right.

I believe that they will come down in a really weird area and end up nominating Ron Paul as their candidate.

2. It doesn't matter who the republicans pick.
It's who the MSM decides to be the nom that matters. My money is on Perry the Bush clone.

3. My process of elimination ends up with Perry
Paul's statements about cutting the military and ending the Patriot Act won't play out well.

I think Romney's religion will be used against him and the Evangelicals will turn to Perry.

5. It'll be Perry.
He appeals to economic conservatives, the Christian Right, the gun lobby, etc., plus he's a good old boy from the South.

There's no way in hell it's going to be Ron Paul.

6. If you think Perry can't be a mainstream candidate,
you don't know America's mainstream.

8. Ron Paul has passed his zenith
He ain't goin' nowhere. No way, no how. Bank on it.

Romney and Huntsman are the most viable mainstream candidates. Hunstman has yet to makes his breakout move, and when he does, look out.
