13. wake up! we didn't elect the second one.
wouldn't have had to directly elect the first had his familyfriend Hinckley been a better marksman.

Don't discount the sh!t they'll do to get what they want.

2. No. Not in 2012.
They are not going to risk Jeb losing.
He will wait until 2016.

6. I have been thinking the same thing.
With all the kooks running, Jebbie will ride in on his white horse and save the day for the repukes. This makes me gag.

7. If the Bush family name wasn't still a shitstain in our history than The Idiot King
wouldn't be slithering his idiot behind around the country. Oh I'm sure he's still doing something political or whoring himself for financial gains, somewhere it's just under or off the national radar.

B.u.s.h. is a four-letter word right now.

I can't imagine anyone being crazy enough (even the Fundie nutbags) to trot out another one when the ruins of the last one are still hot and steaming.

Maybe in the future perhaps.

8. I've Marked Them, Alright. You're Wrong
I've marked your words alright. You're wrong. (1) I don't think Jeb Bush is running for President this year (2) I fear that the probable Republican presidential nominee is likely to be Rick Perry, a hard-driving, plays-dirty campaigner. If Jeb gets into the race at this point, "Slick Rick" will hand Jeb his entrails as well as his head.

9. slickrick will not run for the same reasons that ex-Illinois Gov. Jim Thompson didn't run.
'membah him? He was going to be the next Reep hero 'til his evening activities got too noisy.

11. Disagree. Perry's Not Dropped His Underwear--And Probably Won't
I disagree. The lamestream press (yes, a r/w term, but highly descriptive of our gutless, cowardly, lazy corporate media) isn't going to probe "Slick Rick's" business dealings. And as long as Rick Perry isn't caught cavorting with multiple partners or with partners of the same sex, the sorts of wingie-dingies who voted for him here in Texas will vote for him in the Republican primaries and in the general election. Unfortuately for those of us who would like to see Perry's support melt away like ice-cubes in the middle of Death Valley in high summer, I don't think any sex scandals will come to light--probably because there aren't any.

12. gaysex is a major scandal in his base's view. insurmountable.
hang on to your hat.

Ten bucks to DU bets that his campaign will end quietly, and soon, (thanks to a bang) with a whimper.

16. You're On
You're on.

I still doubt that Rick Perry will be caught in a gay sex scandal as a direct participant, or at least one recent enough for his fellow-reactionaries to pillory him with. Even if Governor Good-hair is a latent, it doesn't necessarily mean that he is actually having gay sex. He might have sublimated his libido into his political ambition.

10. So each one of those individually very ambitious people...
...has been recruited by The Powers That Be, and agreed to play a very public role of looking very foolish, to knowingly set the stage for Jeb Bush?

Riigggghhht. :eyes:

Even if Jeb Bush decides to run, that would not in the least bolster the credibility of your fantasy being the behind-the-scenes story.

14. No,I actually think the party's encouraging them knowing full well that
there's (their idea of) a ringer in the wings. A ringer who is not subject to intense media scrutiny as long as this circus provides a distraction. My money's on Jeb.
