9. My thougtht was they might be Japanese actors or musicians...

and the donor is posting them as a tribute to the Japanese people and what they've endured with the earthquake, tsunami and Fukushima.

Purely a guess, tho.

Edit: no, that can't be right. Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Michelle Yeoh are not Japanese. Ken Watanabe, who is Japanese, is the only other one I recognize.

13. I recognized the 2 lead actresses from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Toshiro Mifune, & Jackie Chan.

Bruce Lee, of course. One or two other faces looked sort of familiar but I couldn't place them. I wish there were a way to know who ALL of them are.

Also Kimura from one of the oldest idol bands on the planet (they've been around for about 20 years) SMAP. He is a big deal in Japan. And Takenouchi Yutaka another actor who is well known. :) It really suprised me to see pictures of them here. :)

I'm not really that well-versed in Asian cinema, I used to catch a few Kirosawa movies in my younger days, and I own the DVD of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. That's about it.
