10. Why? They will just use the additional revenue to fund tax cuts for billionaires.

The regressive FICA tax should be eliminated entirely and medicare/social security should be funded from general revenue. The increase in the FICA tax (and the COLA'd cap) in the reform of '83 that was supposed to guarantee sufficient funds for the boomer retirement was used instead by 20 years of republican regimes to hide the huge deficits they caused by repeatedly lowering taxes on the rich. I have zero faith that any additional FICA revenues will be used for any other purpose.
