NY gov Cuomo. flew home in state aircraft

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo used state aircraft for more than a dozen flights to or from his home following statewide tours in which he called for belt-tightening and budget cuts for schools and other services, records show.

Cuomo used state aircraft far less than his predecessors and there is no record of any politicking or fundraising in the trips, according to records obtained by The Associated Press under the state Freedom of Information Law.

The records show Cuomo used a state plane and helicopter to return to suburban Westchester County at the end of statewide tours more than a dozen times from when he took office in January through June, the end of his first legislative session.

1. Not quite seeing...

Why this would be an issue. Sounds like these were all used for State business. Am I missing something? I mean, it's not like he was using them to go to his kid's little league games ;) (ok, that was petty, but it strikes me that this is being brought up in part because Christie had issues regarding use of official state aircraft.)

2. Christie used the helicopter and a limo to go to his son's baseball game...

at an exclusive and snobby private boy's school. And then he left and used the same helicopter to rush off to a fund raiser. Neither of which were state business.

3. Yeah, I don't get it either...

The story itself says the trips were all for state business and no politicking was done on the trips. But then, if people only scan the headline...they come away with a negative impression.
