Even FOX News poll puts Obama 11 points ahead of Bachmann

Lets hope Bachmann gets the GOP nomination.

She'll just give us the same old tiresome mantra: "More spending cuts and no tax increases".
That's the ONLY thing she has in her tiny brain.

The far right loves this but it will really turn off most voters, esp. since they've already gotten massive spending cuts.

2. She was a placeholder for Perry ...
Easy on the eyes for the party of values, and a true believer in their BS.

Minus Perry she had an outside shot at beating Romney.

But, now that a REAL man who is a true believer with swagger and a record of "creating jobs" is in the race, it is a two horse race, and Perry is going to be STEAMING down the stretch at Romney.

3. Rasmussen is such a joke. on 5/5-5/6 they had Obama +22 but
on 7/8-7/9 they have him +7

So they can claim a 15 point drop

PPP is almost as bad with an 11 point drop while ABC has him picking up 3% and McClatchy has him picking up 5%.

7. CNN has him up just 6 on this link.
However, Intratrade, the betting service has dropped Obama to even money for re-election. He had been as high as 58% likely, now down to 50.2

4. Bachmann..
... is not going to win the nomination so it really doesn't matter.

Neither is Perry and certainly not Gingrich or Pawlenty.

6. I wouldn't count Perry out yet
I think he timed his announcement just right. There are a lot of RepubliKochs who are not crazy about Romney. They may view Perry as an alternative who can get elected. Also, now that he made it official, Palin is done. So all those wack jobs who have been praying for her to enter have to look elsewhere.

9. Well I hope I am right.
... and I think I am. Perry has the charisma and oratory skills of a sedated baboon. I just don't think he can inspire the masses, and I don't think the fundie base is big enough to get him elected.

But of course, I could be wrong :)

17. I think you are right
The powers that be will make the extreme wingnut part of the party think they have a chance to win either with bachman perry etc. When the real crunch time comes late next summer before the convention everything will have shifted to romney just like it shifted to mccain last time (after the flirtations with the more wingnut candidates in 2007). I dont think the real power in the pug party will in the end, go with the extreme rwinger. All their hopes (extremist rightwingers)will be dashed and they (extreme rw/christianists) will stay home in november). My prediction:)

11% is a blow out in an actual election

10. Interesting Mark Halperin says the real contest right now is
between Perry and Romney and Bachman will have
to "claw her way in'".

In other words, the real candidates are Romney
and Perry. Perry has to show he can beat Romney.

Republicans want a candidate who creates excitement
and will be confrontational with Obama. Perry
has the edge here so let us watch and see.

13. Fox does not want a Bachmann candidacy
Fox has to pay homage to the teabaggery just like the rest of the Republican party, but it's run by the money people, not the tea people, and those people are running scared right now that the useful idiots are now driving their party's narrative. You can expect Fox to do more to sabotage Michelle because while they want her voters, they really really don't want her to be their candidate.

18. I think..
.. you are correct. I think the Repubs thought they could co-opt the teabaggers, and then found that the teabaggers are even more stubborn than they are.

Now they are running scared. Should too many of those nutcakes get elected, they might actually block a debt ceiling increase and where would the oligarchy be then?

19. It doesn't matter.
It will end up being a "Democrat" against a "Republican" and the one that can persuade the most people to vote for him or her will be the next President of the United States. President Obama has turned an historical time into just a "normal" time. He was wrong. We were and are in a crisis and this White House acts as if it is politics as usual.
