Errant campfires still abound, but not on the high desert side. A big wreck on the Alfalfa Road today put up a hugh!! black smoke. Lava Butte lookout and I crossed on it. We sent fire crews, although it was BLM land.

But the full moon (100%) rise tonight was smokin' hot! I shot from the ground, again.

8. Dear Tex.....wish you would cross post that first one in the Photo forum.
It is every bit as good as any photos I see there every day. A wonderful shot, good composition, lovely colors.

10. Those are beautiful.
There was a big haze of smoke last week that looked like it was coming from public land adjoining my place; I was a bit nervous, but never did find any mention of a problem, so I assumed it also was some sort of accident, or perhaps someone doing some illegal burning. I read that there were going to be some controlled burns this year, but I didn't think they would do those in the middle of fire season.

12. +1
And an alfalfa reference.

I'm working with my nephew to exhibit his cow and calf at the Oregon State Fair in Salem!

Tough because his dad (my little brother) has brain cancer.

Life just goes on. Sometimes.
