Is the US government preparing for unrest?
Edited on Wed Aug-10-11 06:49 PM by Proles
It seems to me, with all that's been going on in the world (including England), our government ought to know what's next -- civil unrest.

Now, you'd think this could easily be solved by protecting the few social programs we have, to allow a modest middle-class life for all, but it seems the interests of the rich and powerful are so fully entrenched, that even our politicians can do little about it.

Maybe I'm paranoid (or they are), but it almost seems like the rich people and government know what's coming and are merely focusing their attention on a potential uprising.

2. when it happens, all bets are off
It will no longer be about right or left, it will be them and us, govt and people, because this goes beyond race or idealogy...class and survivalism trumps all. they seem to think they can hide behind their gates or their power and use their own 'security' to remain in their cush lives while the rest of us scramble and kill eachother for the crumbs...

problem is, it may not matter where we fall on the spectrum of who is responsible, we all are fed up and want those on high to PAY.
If that kind of unified front comes to pass, well, maybe then we can find the change we need somewhere ion the rubble...

8. The problem is
it's never those "on high" who pay in these actions. It's the poor and the middle class who live and own businesses in the neighborhoods that are attacked.

I dont give a f**k if they are, I just hope we are
preparing. 30 years of Trickle Down bullshit and rising Plutocracy is eventually going to lead to unrest and hopefully some upheavals.

12. We've been there done that more than once.
Civil unrest is Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Andrew Young and John Lewis.

Riots are just riots.

are well prepared for any incident. There are sooooo many people hurting in this country for all sorts of reasons and it seems the banksters, wall street and those controlling the wealth want to completely gut this country.

About 400 people control/have about 50% of the wealth of this country. Eventually many Americans are going to reach the tipping point. How anyone can expect this to continue is beyond me. And about 20% of Americans own 80% of America's wealth. These are not good numbers.

And now they want to take more and more away, and tell the majority of the people this is what must happen! They don't even want most Americans to have a modest life. This is no longer a country, it's USA, Inc.

No, I don't think you're paranoid at all.
