The Republican Party is now the "Block Party"
They block revenue, block legislation, block appointments, they block everything. So from now on I'm calling them the Block Party.

2. That's what gave me the idea.
I think we should say it until it sticks to them. That's what the Repugs, the Block Party is so good at, catch phrases like this.

8. The Repugs hammer these catch phrases into peoples
heads. We have to start doing the same. To this day, when I think of John Kerry I think flip-flop, not deep thinker.

The Block Party brought us the Teaparty downgrade.

3. Just saw that... Nothing is going to change...
Republicans are NOT going to cut any defense spending. They are NOT going to rein in Wall Street and they are NOT going to provide any jobs. They are NOT going to reverse Bush Tax cuts.

The people in Washington are so out of touch... NOTHING will ever change until the whole friggin' thing collapses into a stinking pile of misery and suffering.

4. Hmm.
Have you considered that many people will associate positive things with a block party? Such a name, used widely, could lead people to think all Republicans are people they'd like to have a beer with. Or something. Umm.

They are blocking things a lot. Their intent is to break things. If I were choosing a name by which to call them, I'd work on exposing their ugly motives and final goals, I think.

Not that I have a good name to suggest.

5. They've been blocking Dem fixes to economy to KEEP BUSH'S ECONOMIC POLICIES
Edited on Wed Aug-10-11 05:25 PM by blm
For all the TeaPartying lies about how they were against Bush's stewardship, they sure do work overtime to make sure his economic policies continue.

The Dems haven't been able to push one significant budget policy change through for 3 years now.

And people have to wonder why this country's economy is in the crapper, still? Because the wealthiest have been funding the ongoing dumbing down of GOP voters.

9. True 2 years ago
But frustratingly, every piece of legislation seems to originate from a Republican standpoint and it did even when we had all three branches.

11. Two words "fake fillibuster," among other things.
I'm really fucking sick of people saying that we had all three houses and didn't do anything. There has been post after post here on DU debunking that right-wing meme so I won't waste my breath here.

12. Wow
So it's better when we don't have the speaker of the house, or leader of the senate and the presidency? Ok. Forever positioning ourselves for the minority so we can combat right wing meme's???? Do you agree or disagree that every major piece of legislation seems to formulate around a Republican plan or am I blind? Where is our plan? Where is the people's plan?
