The GENERAL welfare of the United States is CONTINGENT on
the INDIVDIUAL welfare of each resident/citizen.

& only a FOOL would think not.

Our states have MANY ways to provide diversity, but they are not capable of protecting our OLD AGE WELFARE in this age of NATION-WIDE TRAVEL. If 1 state were to provide such OLD AGE WELFARE, the old would migrate to THAT state & OVERWHELM its resources. But as a NATION, we can spread those costs where needed. This is 1 of those areas where our FOUNDERS would have UNDERSTOOD that some things Government CAN do better than the individual state.

"Yes, CONGRESS has the power to collect taxes, and even borrow (NOT the executive branch)" --- which is why the tCONS in CONgress caused the ALMOST DEFAULT that led to the S&P Credit DOWNgrade, which then resulted in the stock markets SELL-OFF & IS NOW SPIRALING US DOWN INTO AN ECONOMIC ABYSS! THANKS TO ALL OF YOUR BUDDIES FOR THAT! HOPE U ALSO are THAT happy to get rid of that "socialist black man in the White House!" BECAUSE THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS ALL ABOUT! That old SOUTHERNER mitch McConnel CONfirmed that several MONTHS ago, even if he left out the language used on the streets in the deep south. REMEMBER, I GREW UP IN HOUSTON & I KNOW how those people talk!
