13. Taking the GOP at it's word AND carrying water for the other side.
Well done. Perfect example of what the OP was asking people not to do.

5. We ought to be slamming the GOPers hard, all day, every day.
Edited on Wed Aug-10-11 11:56 AM by The Velveteen Ocelot
If we want to get put these bastards back in their cages where they can't do any more damages, we (Democrats, liberals, progressives) have to acknowledge our differences, then reconcile them, set them aside as much as possible, and go for the GOP's jugular. Together. I think it was Ben Franklin who said at the signing of the Declaration of Independence, "We must all hang together or we shall most assuredly hang separately." For those guys that statement was literally true; but if we also don't hang together this time we will most assuredly be well and truly screwed in many other ways.

6. I don't think anybody here is carrying water for the Republicans
However, the "well, he's better than Michele Bachmann" meme is just damning Obama with faint praise.

Sorry, but right now there don't seem to be Democrats or Republicans. There's just one big party of beltway baffoons.

8. Why should we? When our "leaders" are doing a such a splendid job of it?
And, even bragging about it. See "The List".

9. It could be much worse. We could go on television and sell the Republican narrative
to the nation day after day, convincing them that their fictions about our economy are true.

15. The president brags publicly about how little he listens to us
and how angry he makes us. Maybe he could set an example for us.

we are condoning their actions. I for one do not think this is a wise course of action.

18. Repubs won't LISTEN TO US! DEMOCRATS MIGHT!
Who here does not criticize Republicans? But in what universe do we have any sway over them? And, by being all quiet and docile, do you really think we can get what we want from the Democrats? THESE DEMOCRATS? Really?

19. You are doing exactly what they want you to do.
You are falling for the charade of two corporate parties pitting us against each other while they slide measures into place that will impoverish ALL of us.

21. Ok, I think I may get it now. We would be carrying stuff. But picture would need...
to be showing us dragging the dead bodies of people that needed help for the "Entitlements" stuff that we fucked them over for.
