1. Well keep in mind that the places that the recalls took place are heavily populated

with republicans.

I think the democrats did a hell of a good job tossing out the TWO that they did.

And if they recall Walker in January 2012, that will be the cherry on the top :)

2. Thanks, I needed help to back off the cliff. I am just so sick and tired of the oppressors having
any victory at all. We are a nation under siege with the help of those who continue to vote for and enable people like Scott Walker.

4. We'll never know until the vote count is on paper and transparent
It's not the votes that count. It's who counts the votes. Josef Stalin

When the vote counter is a political office partisan who campaigns for their own job, you cannot expect fair voting results

5. I agree that all votes should have a paper backup, BUT
it is not the County Clerk that 'counts the votes'.
The folks that count the votes are at the precinct level.
There are both republicans and democrats at the precinct level that know what the vote total is that they send to the County Clerk.
IF the County Clerk posts the incorrect vote total for a precinct then the folks at that particular precincts (republicans and democrats) would catch the error.

I am sure there are NO democratic precinct workers out there that would not double check the numbers that the County Clerk publicly posts for their precinct and compare them to the numbers that they sent in.

So, I will have to disagree with you on the second part of your comment.

7. Remember Karen Hughes in Florida?
We also had a Sec Of State in Georgia that selectively counted and reported numbers back when Saxby Chambliss was put in office ahead of Max Cleland.

I've worked as a poll watcher and watched them count and watched them call in the numbers to the Sec of State back in 08, and you're right. We need to have trained poll watchers in every polling place to make sure that people can vote, votes are counted, machines are monitored, and votes get reported. Democracy takes work.

13. That's it? No evidence, just your assumption that 'shenanigans' occurred?
I'd like to hear about the facts. Not saying it didn't happen, but the OP is pure bullshit without any facts to back it up.

14. There is one way --- A critical mass of stupidity and self-destructiveness
I'm not saying there were no shenanigans -- don't know.

But the most likely explanation is that there were enough deluded people who got bfrainwashed by all of the Koch funded propaganda to create enough of a critical mass to overcome the Democratic Challenge of Sanity.
