Wisconsin should be a cake walk
the fact that it will go down to the wire and the Dems may not take the Senate after the shit Walker pulled, only shows me that the voters are too stupid to see past the bullshit of the right and we probably won't turn this country around.

Kloppenberg should have been a cakewalk, too. Even if she hadn't had it stolen out from under her it still would have been a narrow win. These were our races to lose, and....

24. Yep - some of the early returns where we were trailing have
changed to even-steven or we've pulled ahead.

They didn't expect us to take 'em all, and some they pretty much knew the Republicans would hold on to their seats, so I'm not letting two or three discourage me.

I'm here 'til the end, like you. We're standing with our brothers and sisters in Wisconsin! :patriot:

5. these six districts are highly RETHUG-gerrymandered...
While it is hard for most of us to understand why ANYONE would vote for a rethug, the fact is that these districts are designed to go that way. It is an uphill battle for sure.

Just because you don't want to know what the machines can and have done, doesn't give you the right to slander those that have taken the time to do research.

36. How about two elections in Minnesota where the DFL candidate lost the machine count
but the Republican margin was small enough to trigger automatic recounts. And, when the ballots were recounted by hand, the DFLer won. Polling had had Dayton up by several percentage points before the elections.

I'm just thankful we use scanners so there was a paper trail that allowed a recount. No one saw the Republican take over of the legislature coming last November and I wish all the races in the state could have been recounted.

38. I'm not paranoid, I am a network/computer professional.
I know how easily the software is to hack, and I know the RepubliCONs motives.
That's all one needs to know, to know that Dems will only win races that CONs wish them to win.

8. Why do you think it would be a cakewalk to go into predominately
republican districts and turn that district around?

I don't understand how people don't see that it is very hard to change the long term voting patterns of the district.

20. It just shows me enough voters want the policies
that will destroy this country. And the Dems, at least nationally seem quite happy to help them out.
Just look at Reid's picks today not a progressive among them.

30. In these districts....
We got our asses handed to us in 2010 because our base didn't turn up and their did.

Older, White middle income and up voters go to the polls a lot more often than people under 35 minorities and guess what, these people who only turn out for presidential elections are fickle.

I've spent the better part of the last 35 years pouring over voting behavior in precincts here in Ohio and I was able to target the ones we would win, the ones we couldn't and the ones that always vote for the Dem's.

Guess what, I was right. I helped the Cuyahoga County Dem's take ever office in the county except for one state senator and one state rep.

so yea, I do know how to look at votes...

Even a two-seat gain, which seems pretty solid right now, would be a substantial Democratic accomplishment.

18. How are recalls a cakewalk?
You take on an incumbent...which is to say it's a fight on the other sides turf.
The incumbent is an incumbent because the district leans to the philosophies of the other side.

One of the districts in WI hasn't had a democratic challenger in decades.

have a chance at the dream. The millionaires only care about their stacks of gold, and they would support the entire gov't being brought down as long as they keep those stacks of gold.... fools!

And what I mean about the bigots, they cannot stand Obama, they think of him in the worst possible light, and you all know how dark a place that is - so these simple rural and working class people who are in these GOP districts think to themselves, I have to keep power away from Obama and the people who support him - and yes, I believe all the way down to local politics their hate of him effects their votes, which is never the case in local political elections in off years.

34. How you figure? The fact is most of your unions today
are in the public sector and they have very good wages and benefits. Private sector unions have been on life support for decades now. So what the Republicans have done is turn middle class private sector workers against the public sector worker. The Republicans have Fox and nearly every talk show repeating their propaganda 24/7. They have convinced the unemployed and private sector workers union and non-union that it is the public sector union workers that are the enemy. I hear people that work private sector union jobs or retired from them every day bitching about all public employees. It's the Republican play book they multiply their chances of winning by dividing the voters.
