17. I think it is a fantastic idea for the media to use good pictures of the politicians

they support and unflattering pictures of those they don't.

Because of the failure of our educational system, most people can't read a complicated article that discusses the policy positions of a candidate. They need visual aids to help them form their opinions. Newsweek wants to make the point that Bachmann is slightly nuts but the average American would never read the article. A picture is worth 1000 words, especially when people can only read at a third grade level.

The media prolonged Sarah Palins fifteen minutes of fame by ridiculing and laughing at her. Many conservatives started to feel sorry for her.
