Victim shoots robbery suspect in Applebee's parking lot
Victim shoots robbery suspect in Applebee's parking lot

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida - Authorities say a would-be victim pulled a gun and shot a man who tried to rob him in a restaurant parking lot in St. Petersburg.

St. Petersburg police say the incident happened about 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the Applebee's parking lot located on 4th Street North.

Police say Raven Smith and Lesley Tanner were exiting their vehicle to go into the restaurant when 17-year-old Anthony Hauser, wearing a ski mask and armed with a handgun, confronted Tanner.

Smith -- who possesses a concealed weapons permit -- drew his own handgun and fired at the suspect multiple times.

1. Anthony Hauser chose his victim poorly
I hope he recovers and becomes an honest citizen.

3. Wild West at Applebee's.
My Republican bro-in-law (and Washington insider)actually said that the gun culture of America has such a strong history , that it is part of our identity -- it's who we are. And for that simple reason guns should require less regulation. Idiot! I always think of him when I hear of gun violence.

4. Even this "Wild West" is a myth.
Maybe the "Wild West" fantasy from old TV shows and movies, but the real "Wild West" had hardly any actual violence.

Some thug, (emphasis on the word THUG,) wanted money, probably for his meth habit.

Sane and sober person stops robber, robber will now be going to jail, will not pass Go, will not collect his $200.

7. i dont like guns, have guns or use guns. a kid pulling a gun, one has to assume
he is willing to use it. not really gonna frown on the person protecting himself.
