The real reason for the market falling isn't the Credit Downgrade
Stocks have been overpriced/overbought now for well over a year. Even though companies have been posting decent growth overall the stocks are way overpriced. Something needed to back down those ridiculous prices and now people are selling.

Companies have loads of cash on hand. i read yesterday something like $2 Trillion in cash on hand in the US alone. But their refusal to spend on investment, R&D, hiring, etc. is actually hurting the economy. If those companies were smart they would invest and create jobs. More jobs equal more consumers. More jobs also equal more tax revenue helping lower the deficit.

1. That $2 Trillion is being held off shore = Tax Exempt
wait for it .. wait for it ....

And they already claimed and received "Foreign Tax Credits" applied against their US earnings

2. It's classic hoarding behavior on the part of the super wealthy...
They have no faith in the future so they are clawing and grasping for every penny in fear of another Great Depression.

4. Companies don't "create" jobs. Demand creates jobs.
worst con of this whole debacle.

5. You have it backward. Jobs create Demand, Demand creates investment
The first thing to do is to create DEMAND. We already have in the lack of infrastructure due to 30 years of under investment (Thanks RayGun)
We need the Government to create the good paying jobs to repair the neglect.
We need those jobs to be good paying middle class jobs that people can raise a family on and retire. The wages paid for the jobs create Taxes. The wages also create demand as the workers spend and create more demand.
